OBSERVATORY
loading…
The lattice that emerges from the corpus when you ask:
which theories have the most supporting evidence in our catalog, and which have the least?
Each theory is scored on its direct evidentiary support —
cases it invokes (weight ×2), phenomena it explains (×1.5),
named proponents (×1), related theories (×0.5).
A theory with zero cases, zero phenomena, and zero proponents is
flagged orphan no matter how many sibling theories it gestures at.
Re-runs immediately on corpus edits — this view is always live.
case epistemic status (corpus_status)
Per-case status independent of theory-linkage. The badges show how the
corpus reads each case's evidentiary standing — a case can be
"historically-pivotal-explained" (Mantell → Skyhook balloon, but it
drove Project Sign) AND linked to a theory. Tags are editorial — they
travel with the case wherever it's surfaced.

team orphan-sweep
For each orphan case, Llama 3.3 (workhorse) proposes 1–3 candidate
theories with one-line justifications; Qwen 3.6 (editor) marks each
candidate keep (strong fit) /
weak (borderline) /
cut (speculative). When no
candidate earns a keep, the case is flagged demands new theory
— a signal the corpus is missing a framework.
convergence & orphan evidence
Left: convergence cases — cases invoked by 3+ theories. Either the
frameworks are converging on something real, or the case is vague
enough to absorb any reading. Right: orphan cases — present in
the catalog but invoked by no theory. Either work-to-do, or anomalies
that demand new theory.
