Long career as a Department of Defense contractor working on directed-energy, missile-defense, and advanced-propulsion research at Marshall Space Flight Center and through various aerospace subcontractors. Author of multiple hard-science-fiction novels (including the Tau Ceti Agenda series) and non-fiction works on space and physics for general audiences.

Joined the Skinwalker Ranch investigation in 2020 as the show’s central interpretive voice. Travis’s role on-screen is to translate instrument readings into engineer’s plain-spoken claims about what the data ‘means’ — a function that has made him both the show’s most quoted figure and its most contested one.
