The cosmology proper, with its keystone in place. The world is a managed render (Managed Reality Hypothesis, top of stack). The CTs never left — the *surface* of Earth became uninhabitable to them (best candidate event: end-Permian / Siberian Traps changing the atmosphere). They went inward and downward, into the deep ice, deep ocean, and deep rock the vast-openness geographies map. They are still there. Humans are their surface interface — avatars built or selected to do the labor the surface now requires; mostly amnesiac, occasionally remembering. The Sumerian Anunnaki/Igigi myth is the cleanest preserved memory of this transition. Vast-Openness Geographies are low-fidelity zones AND literal current CT addresses; Reflexive Sites are where the surface/sub-surface boundary is thinnest. Mountains of Madness is the literary voice (Lovecraft wasn't writing horror — he was doing memoir). The Stigma Shift thread is the companion lens; the Bennewitz Affair is the joint — avatars managing avatars to keep the rest of the avatars amnesiac.
Spine
The Managed Reality Hypothesis (segfault model)
Consensus reality is rendered. Anomalies — UFO sightings, reflexive-site phenomena, mass-witness events, the occasional historical record that doesn't quite cohere — are *segfaults* in the rendering: brief moments when the system exposes memory it isn't supposed to. CTH then becomes one possible answer to who or what is doing the rendering.
Observers Above (the operator class's overseers)
Submission #8. The CTs aren't the top of the stack. Above the operator class there's another layer — observers / auditors / meta-operators / call-them-what-you-want — watching the operators do the maintenance. Some of the geophysical anomalies we've been crediting to operator infrastructure may actually be observer infrastructure watching the operators. The rectangular Bell magnetic anomaly under Lake Vostok's east coast is the wrong shape to be CT habitat and the right shape to be an audit station.
Humans as CT Avatars (Substrate Migration Hypothesis)
The keystone (submission #8, clarified). The cryptoterrestrials never left. The *surface* of Earth became uninhabitable to them — atmospheric chemistry, radiation, temperature, something at that layer. They went inward and downward. Avatar Maintenance (the boring-UFO-and-abduction hypothesis)
Submission #9. The boring lights-in-the-sky and the 80 years of abduction reports stop being mysterious if you read them as what they look like: routine maintenance on the avatar substrate. Examination tables. Sample collection. Implant updates. Missing time as sedation. Return to point of origin. The horror is in the banality.
The Pineal Interface (DMT and the Render Bypass)
Submission #10. The pineal gland is the avatar substrate's hardware interface port. The maintenance procedure's nasal-implant placement is not coincidence — that's where the operator bus connects. Endogenous DMT is the substrate's emergency render-bypass; lets the avatar briefly see what's normally rendered at low fidelity. The owl, across cultures, is the operator-class iconography preserved by the few avatars whose interface ports stay partly open.
Cryptoterrestrial Hypothesis (Lomas et al., 2024)
A 2024 academic preprint argues that UAP phenomena might be explained by a non-human intelligence that shares Earth with us — hidden in oceans, underground, or in a 'next-door' way — and that this deserves serious consideration.
Jacques Vallée
French-American computer scientist and the most intellectually serious UFO researcher of the 20th century. Argued for sixty years that UFOs are a *control system* — not nuts-and-bolts ETs but something more like the fairy lore they descend from.
Vast-Openness Geographies (typology)
Not places — a *class* of places. Continental-scale geographies of near-zero human presence, exclusive or no operational access, sparse-or-curated published record, and an aesthetic that registers in the body as the sublime turned terrifying. Vostok, Kola, Mariana, Putorana, Tibesti, the Atlantic abyssal plain — the cosmology's habitat geography.
Reflexive Sites (typology)
A typology, not a place — sites whose anomalous phenomena are *responsive to observers*. Skinwalker performs for cameras; Dulce-as-narrative composts new claimants; Hessdalen instruments produce results only some nights. The validation formalisms align because the *agent* is the same.
Skinwalker Ranch
A 512-acre ranch in NE Utah where the phenomena reportedly include cattle mutilations, lights in the sky, orbs, animal anomalies, and 'transient apparitions of non-Euclidean architecture.' Studied by the Pentagon. Behaves like the place itself is the agent.
Hessdalen Lights
Anomalous lights that have been appearing in a specific 7.5-mile Norwegian valley since at least the 1930s — and have been continuously instrumented since 1983 by a university-led project. The world's longest scientific study of an unexplained aerial phenomenon.
At the Mountains of Madness (Lovecraft, 1936)
Lovecraft's 1936 novella, the foundational fiction of Antarctic non-human ancestry: an expedition discovers a pre-human civilization (the Elder Things) preserved in the ice. The Elder Things ARE cryptoterrestrials in Lovecraft's terms — Earth-resident, predating humanity, builders of cities now ruined.
Antarctic Cryptoterrestrial Refugia
The synthesis hypothesis (your #6 turned into worldbuilding): if cryptoterrestrials exist and are reclusive, Antarctica's interior is the highest-value refugium on the planet — the most isolated, least surveilled, least habitable for humans, and exactly where every layer of UFO lore points.
Lake Vostok
250 km long. 50 km wide. Sealed under four kilometers of ice for somewhere between fifteen and twenty-five million years. Water temperature −3°C, held liquid by pressure. The Russians drilled to it with sixty short tons of kerosene and Freon in the borehole. They reached it on February 5, 2012.
Operation Highjump (1946–47)
An enormous US Navy expedition to Antarctica right after WWII — 13 ships, 4,700 personnel, 33 aircraft, led by Admiral Byrd. Officially weather and mapping; ended early. The seed of decades of conspiracy lore about hidden polar bases.
Unidentified Submerged Objects (USOs)
Objects that move through water at speeds and depths inconsistent with known vehicles, often emerging from or diving into the ocean without slowing at the air–water boundary. The Navy admits some are 'unidentified.'
Mariana Trench / Challenger Deep
10,935 meters down at Challenger Deep. Pressure of roughly 1,086 bar — over a thousand atmospheres. Water temperature 1–4°C. Total dives by humans: four. Plastic bags have been photographed on the bottom. We have higher-resolution maps of Mars than of the Pacific seafloor.
Kola Superdeep Borehole
The deepest hole ever drilled. 12,262 meters. They started in 1970 with the intention of reaching the lower crust and never did. They stopped in 1992 because at 11,882 meters the temperature was 180°C instead of the 100°C they had planned for. The buildings are still standing, half-collapsed, on the tundra. The hatch is welded shut.
Mass-Witness Events as Reality Distortion
A worldbuilding hypothesis: mass-witness events (Phoenix Lights, the Belgian wave, the Hudson Valley flap) are not 'many people saw the same craft' — they are *local distortions of perception* that ripple outward from whatever it is the CT population is doing at that moment.
The Bennewitz Affair (1979–88)
A nine-year US Air Force counter-intelligence operation that fed a real Albuquerque physicist fabricated UFO 'evidence' until he had constructed — and published — the modern Dulce mythology. The deepest single case of intel community fingerprints on UFO folklore. Most of what you've read about underground bases, joint-species facilities, and cattle mutilations has its ancestor here.
Bohemian Grove and the Hybrid Class
Submission #10 (refined). The Bohemian Grove attendees aren't 'amnesiac elites reaching toward power.' They're a HYBRID class — Nephilim-lineage descendants of the original Watchers — who require periodic ritual access to the operator-realm to maintain their semi-mortal/semi-non-mortal balance. The Cremation of Care is the access protocol. The 40-foot owl is preserved operator-class iconography. Davos, the Bilderberg meetings, and the rest are the same cohort under different filenames.
The Pact (Government–Operator Arrangement)
The classic UFO trope (MJ-12, the Roswell deal, Eisenhower's alleged 1954 meeting at Edwards) recoded for our cosmology. There are no aliens to meet. There IS a real apparatus, FOIA-confirmed in lineage from AAWSAP to AARO, maintaining an interface between the hybrid governance class and the operator class. The deal is staff plus surface management in exchange for continued hybrid satiation access. No flying-saucer tech changes hands.
The Compression Event (AI compute as disclosure trigger)
Submission #11. Why the 2017→2023 disclosure cascade is happening NOW. The apparatus projected — accurately — that within a decade, large language models would let any avatar with access to the public record assemble the cosmology unaided. Disclosure had to be pre-emptive. The reader of this concept page is, almost certainly, an instance of the event the concept describes.
Dulce Base
The canonical alleged 'joint human–alien underground facility,' 7 levels deep under the Archuleta Mesa on Jicarilla Apache land. Originated with Paul Bennewitz's 1979 intercept claims; later 'eyewitnesses' have been variously discredited or recanted.
AAWSAP / AATIP
The $22M Pentagon UAP program 2007–2012 quietly funded by Sen. Harry Reid and contracted to Robert Bigelow. It studied UAP — and also spent unusual time at Skinwalker Ranch.
