What's documented

Mount Shasta is a stratovolcano in the southern Cascade Range, in Siskiyou County, California. Elevation 4,322 m. It is one of the most prominent peaks in the contiguous United States. The mountain has accumulated an unusually deep body of esoteric and contactee literature since the late nineteenth century — most notably the "Lemurian" tradition initiated by Frederick Spencer Oliver (*A Dweller on Two Planets*, 1894/1905) and the Saint-Germain / "I AM" movement of Guy Ballard in the 1930s.
